Wiosna nad Krzną.

Spring over the Krzna river.

Dziś udało mi się odbyć krótki spacer nad Krzną Południową niedaleko Jaty. Śnieg szybko topnieje, a nad łąkami szaleją skowronki. Panie i panowie! Ogłaszam wiosnę!

Today I had a chance to go for a short walk over the South Krzna river near Jata preserve. The snow is melting fast and skylarks are flying all over the meadows. Ladies and gentlemen! It’s spring!

Trznadel.

A Yellowhammer.

In April I took these nice photos of a yellowhammer. I really like how beautiful it looks surrounded by this yellowish green.

Poranek na mokradłach.

Morning on the marshes.

In the Monday morning I had another chance to visit the marsh grounds in the vacinity of Jata near Łuków. It was well after sunrise and the golden hour was ending but the light was still really nice.

At first I saw a roe deer running in the direction of the woods. It stopped for a moment, but didn’t look very disturbed with my presence. For a minute I was even wondering if it spotted me, but that was quite obvious – although I was near the forest edge I was well lit by the rising sun.

When the roe disappeared far away I started to observe my nearest surroundings. A bird was singing – it was a yellowhammer that was sitting in the nearby bush.

About 200 meters further the marshes start. I walked in their direction with caution. I heard the cranes clanging – that made me very happy as seeing them was my primary goal during this trip. The next hour was a feast for eyes and ears. Besides the cranes I saw wild ducks, that were getting in the air and flying around the marsh ground.

Sikorka i przyjaciele.

A Tit and Friends.

Zrobiło się cieplej i w końcu liczniej zaczęły się pokazywać ptaki. Dziś udało mi się spotkać sikorkę bogatkę, trznadla i myszołowa.

As it became little warmer more birds started to come out. Today I met a great tit, a yellowhammer and a buzzard.

Jesienne trznadle.

Autumn Yellowhammers.

Nie trzeba jechać do egzotycznych krajów, żeby zobaczyć piękne kolorowe ptaki. Oto piękny trznadel uchwycony pod koniec października.

You don’t need to go to exotic countries to see colourful birds. This is a beautiful yellowhammer met at the end of October.

Trznadel.

A Yellowhammer.

Kolejny ptaszek z niedzieli. Najpierw spotkałem myszołowa, a później tego malca. Oto trznadel – po skowronku to najliczniejszy ptak terenów otwartych w Polsce.

Another bird that I photographed on Sunday. First I met a buzzard and then this little one. It’s a yellowhammer – after a skylark the most numerous bird of open lands in Poland.
