M-346 nad Jagodnem

M-346 over Jagodne

For a few days now M-346 from Dęblin are training on the Jagodne aerial shooting range. Since on Monday the weather was good enough for photography I managed to take a few photos.

Krąg życia.

Circle of Life.

Puścił swoją zdobycz i szybko uciekł w zboże obok drogi.

A few days ago when I was standing on a dirt road between two rape fields, searching for Montagu’s harriers I saw that incredible scene. A few meters away on a crossing with another dirt road a fox appeared with a quite large pray. He confidently turned on the road that I was standing – he didn’t even look around and went the in the other direction. After a while he decided that looking around may actually be a good idea and he spotted me – a slightly surprised nature photographer. He let his pray and quickly disappeared in the crops near the road.

I was a little bit suprised when I realised that he killed a small, recently born roe deer. Judging by the yellow petals on the fox’s fur he probably found it in the rape field I was standing next to.

Niektórzy z Was pewnie powiedzą, że zły lis zabił biedne koźlę.

Some of you will probably say that a bad fox killed a poor deer kid. But can we really see that that way? For the fox the roe deer was just food either for it or it’s pupps. Is the suffering of a deer any better or worse than the suffering of a fox? We should not perceive it that way. Nature is not bad, nature just is. There is no good and bad in it – good and bad was invented by us.

Comming to the end of the story I’ll only tell that when I was leaving a dozen minutes later I made sure that I don’t drive over the little deer so that the fox could return for it. Two days later, when I returned to the same place, the deer was not there.

Kwietniowe rycyki.

April Black-Tailed Godwits.

In April this year on wet meadows near my house a pair of black-tailed godwits stayed for a few days. I was even hoping that they’ll have chicks there but unfortunately after a few days they disappeared.

Poniższe zdjęcia pochodzą z jednej z dwóch sesji jakie im zrobiłem.

Below photos are from one of two photo sessions I had with them.
