Kopciuszek zwyczajny.

Black redstart.

I met a black redstart lately that in Polish is called „kopciuszek” that would translate to a „cinderella”. Cute, isn’t it?

Portret kazuara.

Cassowary Portrait.

Dziś całą rodzinką wybraliśmy się do warszawskiego zoo. Jak zwykle było na co popatrzeć. Mi w obiektyw szczególnie wpadł kazuar. Prawda, że ładnie wyszedł?

Today me and my family went to the Warsaw Zoo. As usual there was plenty to see – for example we met this very photogenic cassowary. Don’t you think it looks really nice?

Muchołówka żałobna.

European Pied Flycatcher

Yesterday in the forest near Jata I met this little bird. After some trouble with identification it finally turned out to be a european pied flycatcher.

Sarna przed zachodem słońca.

A Roe Before the Sunset.

Another part of my wildlife meetings from last Monday – it was a really fruitful day. This time I would like to show you a roe deer that I met before the sunset, when I was trying to find some song trushes and had nothing against my presence.

Poranek na mokradłach.

Morning on the marshes.

In the Monday morning I had another chance to visit the marsh grounds in the vacinity of Jata near Łuków. It was well after sunrise and the golden hour was ending but the light was still really nice.

At first I saw a roe deer running in the direction of the woods. It stopped for a moment, but didn’t look very disturbed with my presence. For a minute I was even wondering if it spotted me, but that was quite obvious – although I was near the forest edge I was well lit by the rising sun.

When the roe disappeared far away I started to observe my nearest surroundings. A bird was singing – it was a yellowhammer that was sitting in the nearby bush.

About 200 meters further the marshes start. I walked in their direction with caution. I heard the cranes clanging – that made me very happy as seeing them was my primary goal during this trip. The next hour was a feast for eyes and ears. Besides the cranes I saw wild ducks, that were getting in the air and flying around the marsh ground.
